1. Most helpful tool or website you used to help you plan?
I used Pinterest the most for ideas on center pieces, picture poses, make up, hair styles, ect. You an also find time lines on Pinterest, which made planning easier because you knew what you needed to be doing so many months/weeks in advanced.
2. Wedding Date?
We got married on December 5th' 2015. My husband, Eric, and myself wanted a fall wedding, but leaving Florida December is still "fall"
3. Wedding location and time of day?
4. Hors d'oeuvres or meal? Catered, potluck, family provided or cake only?
We had both hors d' oeuvres and a meal which all was catered by a delicious caterer, 4 Rivers.
We had ham biscuits, buffalo chicken bites and corn salsa with black beans on tortilla chips! For the dinner we had choices of pulled chicken (unbelievably delicious), pulled pork, green beans, mac n cheese and a roll! Simple choices but so very good and yummy!
As for the cake, we did cupcakes. We had red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (mine and Eric's favorite!!!), chocolate with white chocolate frosting, and vanilla with chocolate buttercream frosting! Every few cupcakes had fondant sunflowers on top of them.
5. Number of guests and number in bridal party?
We had an overall 135 come to the wedding! That many people was a great turn out. Just enough!
The bridal party consisted of 13 people. 7 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen.
6. Wedding colors?
Our wedding colors were navy blue, yellow and accents of grey.
7. Types of flowers and describe your decor style?
My wedding style was rustic. My bridesmaids and myself all wore our boots. We had burlap table runners and mason jars were the vases for the flowers. For the flowers, the bridesmaids bouquets were all sunflowers and babies breath, mine was sunflowers, babies breath, white roses and white daisies. The centerpieces had sunflowers in the main jar, and two jars next to them were filled with the wax flower. We had pink and white wax flowers.
8. Funny story about your wedding?
At the end of the night, and after a few drinks, we were getting ready to do the sparkler send off. My photographer came up to us and asked us how the last kiss was going to be and Eric and I were like "oh let's do a dip kiss!" So my photographer wanted us to just practice it really quickly. Now, the floor of the barn had multiple beers spilt on the floor by this time, and I was standing in a wet spot (I didn't know) and Eric went to dip my down and down I went. He was able to catch me just before I hit the floor, but I still pretty much bust it on the ground haha!
9. Most memorable moment?
This is such a hard question because my whole wedding was so memorable. But I would have to go with the father daughter dance. My dad and I both have really bubbly out going personalities and slow dancing for 4 minutes was it for him and I. My dad and I put together a "mash up" song. We started with my little girl by Tim McGraw, then it went into the twist, can't touch this, YMCA, stomp, jump on it, then back to my little girl for 45 seconds. The guests were shocked and I heard so much laughter, it was definitely a highlight of the night and I'm glad I got to do it with my dad!
10. Biggest surprise of the wedding?
I think the biggest surprises of the wedding was that it didn't rain! It rained all week, and that morning. The formats said it was 70% chance at 4pm and I was a little nervous it was going to rain but it didn't! It was beautiful and perfect and I want to go back!
11. What advice do you have for other brides reading this?
Relax. Have fun. Seriously don't stress. The second you wake up, you blink, and you're night is ending just as fast. Things are going to go wrong, but that's ok as long as your guests are still having fun and it doesn't effect things, then don't worry it! At the of the day, you're still going to be married to your husband so and that's what matters.
Also, get as many pictures as possible because it really does fly by!
12. Was there a honeymoon, if so where?
The honeymoon was in Aspen Colorado! It was absolutely amazing. I love the snow and cold weather. We went skiing and it was so much. I did tear my ACL while skiing but, for better or for worse, right?
13. Describe his face/that moment when you first saw him as you started down the aisle.
Bringing back the tears.. I really do not like the whole separate first look. Going to the alter and seeing is face was just so, surreal. There was my soon to be husband. My high school sweetheart. His face was priceless. The biggest smile was across his face and he was holding back tears. The most perfect moment of the night!
14. Tell us about the proposal/your engagement story. (We are dying to hear it!)
Ok, so my favorite story. Eric and I had been together for five years at the time and I was not expecting him to ask me at all. I run half marathons and I finally convinced Eric to run a half marathon with me. The race we ran was the Disney wine and dine half marathon. After weeks of training the day finally came and off we went. At the end of the race (Eric smoked me by 20 minutes) I called him and asked where he was. He told me "looking for your dad." I got a little confused as to why in 20,000 people in the cold, pouring down rain why he was looking for my dad and not me! (little did I know, my dad had the ring!) Finally after 10 minutes of searching I found Eric. We talked a little about the race and right as I was about to tell him lets head out he stopped me and said "I need to ask you something" after telling me he loved me, and me already starting to cry, Eric got down on one knee and asked! of course I said YES! Once I gathered my emotions we were off to celebrate! And rest our legs. I couldn't have asked for a better proposal!
